You don't have to feel this way forever.
Depression can make even small things feel impossible — and it can convince you that this is just how things are now. It isn't. With the right evaluation and the right plan, real relief is possible.

Some people feel deeply sad. Others feel flat, foggy, exhausted, or disconnected from things they used to enjoy. Depression doesn't always look like crying — sometimes it looks like just getting through the day. A thorough evaluation helps identify exactly what you're dealing with, so treatment actually fits.
Withdrawal, irritability, slipping grades, or losing interest in things they used to love can all be signs of depression in kids and teens — and they're easy to mistake for "just a phase." A careful evaluation looks at the full picture: home, school, friendships, and what's changed.
I coordinate closely with therapists, school counselors, and other providers already involved in your child's care, so everyone is working from the same plan.
Depression often shows up or worsens during the college years — a new environment, less structure, and real pressure to perform, all at once. Telehealth appointments mean you don't have to put care on hold while you're away from home.
I'm licensed across 13 states, so most students can continue care seamlessly whether they're on campus or back home for break.
You can be successful, dependable, and still struggling underneath it. High-functioning depression often goes unaddressed because everything looks fine from the outside — meetings get made, deadlines get hit — while you're running on empty.
Treatment is built around your actual life: your schedule, your responsibilities, and what relief would realistically look like for you.
Every patient starts with a thorough evaluation — never a rushed med check.
A full history of your symptoms, what's changed, and what you've already tried — so nothing gets missed.
When helpful, I gather input from a parent, partner, therapist, or other provider already involved in your care.
We talk through what's going on and build a plan together — medication, coordination with therapy, or both.
Follow-up visits to track progress and adjust the plan as you start to feel better.
I provide in-person depression treatment from my Mansfield, TX office, plus telehealth appointments across Texas, for patients throughout the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area.
A rough patch usually lifts on its own within a couple of weeks. Depression tends to persist, affects your sleep, energy, or motivation most days, and starts interfering with work, school, or relationships. A full evaluation can help sort out what's actually going on.
No. Medication is one option, not the only one. Many patients benefit from medication combined with therapy. For many patients Dr. Busch provides psychotherapy alone or combines medication management with psychotherapy. If you have an exisiting therapist, Dr. Busch can coordinate directly with your therapist or other providers to ensure optimal continuity of care.
This is a private pay practice, which means no insurance delays and full appointment time focused on you. I'm happy to provide a superbill so you can seek out-of-network reimbursement.
Yes. I'm licensed across 13 states, so most patients can be seen entirely by telehealth, or combine telehealth with in-person visits at the Mansfield office.
Treatment-resistant depression is something I evaluate carefully — sometimes the issue is the specific medication, the dose, or an underlying piece that hasn't been addressed yet. We'll go through your history together to figure out the right next step.
Reaching out is the hardest part. The first appointment is just a conversation — no pressure, no judgment, just a clear next step.
