What your patient can expect
Here is exactly how care unfolds so you can set accurate expectations before referring.
Free 15-minute consultation
Dr. Busch meets with the patient to learn about their needs and determine fit together. Most patients are seen for an initial evaluation within 1–2 weeks of this call.
60-minute initial evaluation
Dr. Busch reviews criteria for common psychiatric diagnoses and develops a plan together with the patient. If medications are part of the plan, monthly follow-ups are scheduled until a regimen is established, then frequency decreases. Therapy sessions begin weekly and adjust to the patient's needs.
2-hour initial evaluation
The first hour is with parents — gathering developmental history and hearing current concerns. The second hour is with the child: observing, assessing, and asking age-appropriate questions. Family-centered from the start.
Setting clear expectations with families
Dr. Busch is a private pay, out-of-network practice. Patients pay at the time of service and receive a superbill to submit to their insurance for potential reimbursement. Depending on the plan, reimbursement may range from 0% to 80%.
Your questions, answered.
Everything you and your front desk team need to know before referring a patient.
Making a Referral
The simplest referral is a warm handoff — let your patient know Dr. Busch is a good fit, briefly mention she is private pay/out-of-network, and hand them the trifold. The QR code on the trifold takes them directly to scheduling.
To send patient information directly: email name, phone, and email to info@drbiancabusch.com or fax to (617) 812-9342. We will reach out to them directly.
The single most impactful thing you can do is briefly explain out-of-network care before they leave your office. Patients who hear it from you are far more likely to follow through.
A free 15-minute consultation is often available within the same week. Full initial evaluations are typically scheduled within 1–2 weeks of that call.
Insurance & Fees
Dr. Busch is out-of-network with all insurance plans. Patients pay at the time of service and receive a superbill to submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Depending on the plan, reimbursement may range from 0% to 80%.
This model allows Dr. Busch to offer longer evaluation times, more flexible scheduling, and care that is not constrained by insurance authorization requirements.
